Dr. Natalie Politikos and Dr. Tony Crespi:  Yesterday's Practice is Today's Malpractice: Navigating Changing Legal Mandates and Assessment Standards

"As the legal landscape of school psychology and special education continues to evolve, practices once considered standard may now pose significant professional and institutional risks. This workshop explores the dynamic intersection of historical precedent, current legal mandates, and ethical responsibilities in key facets within the educational settings.

Through discussion of legal court cases and proceedings, participants will examine how shifts in legislation and professional standards demand a proactive approach to practice. The presentation will include discussion on assessment, diagnosis, and other core competencies. This advanced professional development opportunity is geared toward school psychologists, district evaluators, and school administrators."
